Why You Should Visit US National Parks in Winter

Iconic Yellowstone was the first patch of land to be designated a national park back in 1872, and more than a century later, it’s still full of grandiose landscapes, endless wildlife, and dynamic geysers. When winter hits, it only accentuates the park’s beautiful features. Unlike some of the other parks on this list, Yellowstone remains fairly busy during the winter season—but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, since there’s plenty of skiing and snowmobiling to be had, among other wintry activities.
